Our Process

Step 1: Consultation

At our initial meeting, we will discover your goals and explore the possibilities offered by your site. If you already have your architect, plans or design concept sorted, we will provide our initial cost estimate for the project based on the information available. If you need us to connect you with an architect, we can request a fee proposal for you and go from there.

Step 2: Development

Once we understand your goals and have all the information we need, we move into developing the concept. This will likely include producing the floor plan, basic renders, and elevations, and at this point, you can point out anything you want changed. We will begin building the provisional cost (PC) budget and a projected timeline. We will also begin the resource consent process.

Step 3: Approvals & Contracts

This is where the plans go to the council for approval. Once we have confirmation of consent, we can start accurately pricing your job. Once Building Consent is in place, we can draw up contracts that will include cost, timelines, dispute processes, and details about defect periods. We will issue an invoice for the deposit and start ordering materials and booking the required subcontractors.

Step 4: New Build Construction

We will start building once all the paperwork has been approved, the contracts signed, and the deposit has cleared. Throughout the construction phase, we will check in with you regularly, especially if any changes need to be made.

Step 5: Handover & Final Inspection

When the Harrison Building team are happy that construction is complete, we action a thorough site clean up, then we order a final inspection to ensure that our standards are met and your new build is compliant. Then we hand your home over to you, warrantied and with an option to tailor a maintenance package so you can maximise the lifespan of your property.
